Helmut Lang brand – Brand introduction

Helmut Lang brand was created by Austrian designer Helmut Lang in 1986. Helmut Lang studied fashion design and established a sewing factory in Vienna in 1977, then opened a store in 1979 when he 23 years old. His product is quite famous in Austria. After the successful presentation at the exhibition called “l’Apocalypse Joyeuse” at the Center of Pompidou, Paris, his reputation spread and then the “Helmut Lang” brand was established in 1986. In in the late 1980s and early 1990s, minimalist Fashion flourished. Helmut Lang’s clothing is designed very sharp, carefully, basic but very elegant, optimal quality on high-tech fabrics. Brand clothing is often compared to Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto because of rigor and intellectual design, breaking all structures. Helmut Lang Fashion is sold in high-end stores and through retailers worldwide. In 1999, the brand cooperated with Prada Group and merged in 2004. In 2005, Helmut Lang left the brand. Later, Prada sold the brand to Japan’s Linkage Theory in 2006. The theory of relaunching Helmut Lang with new designs in 2007.
